5th aQuatic International Conference

in

We would like to thank all of you for a very successful conference this year, for your participation and collaboration in particular.

A special thanks to Christine Duran from Adobe for hosting the conference this year and to her team for flawless execution on the event; to the members of the Board of Directors, their staff and companies; to the conference presenters for their participation; and to acrolinx for their continued support.

We are in the process of posting links to the conference sections for those that were unable to be with us this year.

I look forward to a very exciting year in the organization, as we build upon our successes.

Best regards,

Marc Asturias
Chairman

The aQuatic International Community in its Business Sessions yesterday, elected several new members to the Board of Directors, as well as electing a Chairman of the Board. As of May 30th, the Board of Directors of aQuatic is as follows:

  • Marc Asturias, Cisco Systems - Chairman of the Board of Directors
  • Christine Duran, Adobe Systems - Director
  • Alexia Idoura, Symantec - Director
  • Allen Dean, IBM - Director
  • David Hershfield, PayPal - Director

Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members.

We look forward to continued growth in the upcoming year.

Docs on Kindle -- anyone interested?

I offered to convert the docs to Kindle format if acrolinx gives me RTF -- they are thinking about that.

I know I can put the PDFs on there, but I want it in the Kindle format so I can mark up, add notes, highlight, extract comments, etc.

Anyone else interested if they OK it?

Interesting uses of domains

I'd like to hear how people are using domains.

For example:
* Domain by product to associate more than one product with a term
* Domain by function, such as Legal terms, product terms, user design standard terms

How can acrolinx improve the docs

We started discussing this at the conference and came up with a list of areas in the documentation that could be improved. Please add additional ideas/suggestions here. The nice folks over at IBM are going to go over to Germany to help improve the docs and your ideas will help them.

Using acrolinx IQ for SEO or generating taxonomies

I'd like to hear about how companies are using (or ideas about how they would like to use) acrolinx IQ to enhance their SEO efforts or for generating taxonomies.

What not to do during deployment

At the aQuatic conference this week, we started talking about a number of mistakes we had made in rolling out our acro* implementations. Please share them here...

For example, at Symantec, we initially underestimated the complexity of the rollout. Also, we started with rules and then did terminology, and in retrospect I probably would have focused on terminology first.

What would you have done differently?

Thanks,
Alexia
